Date night #2!

We had an awesome week, we got to go on 2 dates! Tonight we went to Table For Two on Central in Riverside and then to see The Dark Knight at the Plaza.

The food was delicious and well priced, still not as good as our favorite thai place, Jumbo Bowl on Arlington near Van Buren though.

The Dark Knight was awesome, Christian Bale was delicious and Heath Ledger did an amazing job. So sad that he died before seeing his best work.

Donovan's parents watched the kids (thanks!) and they had a great time and were exhausted. Isabella fell asleep within a mile from leaving their house and Zach was right behind her.

Only at Chuck E. Cheese

What is up with rat tails? I have seen 2 kids in the last 2 weeks with rat tails. Please tell me this isn't a returning fad. It didn't look good way back when and it still doesn't look good.

P.S. LOOOVE a kid in a beer shirt. (it's hard to read sarcasm)

I QUIT!

my job! I was being totally taken advantage of. I would be asked to sub for people and on every occasion but 2 or 3 I would say yes and but no one ever wanted to reciprocate. I agreed to take over a co-workers classes for summer and was relieved when that was done last Friday. Well, I got a call Monday asking if I would please take over a class for a few weeks, or until November at the most. I begrudgingly said yes. I was fine until today when I got another call asking if I would take yet another class! So I would be up to 4 classes a week. That was sorta the straw that broke the camels back. I wrote out my resignation stating that my last day would be September 10.

The main reason I am quitting is because of my Zachy, the poor little man cries every time I tell him that we are going to the gym. On days that I teach which would be M-W-F we have to drive to school because I wouldn't have enough time to get back and then to the gym, the kids and I would rather walk. So after taking Isa to school we get home and rush to the gym, after I teach we rush home for me to shower and Zach watches a movie then we rush to pick Isa up. Poor guy hears hurry up more than anything else out of my mouth. So, I'm done.

My husband is such a wonderful provider that he was absolutely fine with me quitting, he actually wants to make sure I stand my ground and don't back down on this. I have such a great guy!

2 more weeks. 2 more weeks. 2 more weeks. YAY!

Date night #1

My friend Alicia watched the kids for us so we could go see The Rocker, OMG hilarious!

Here is a clip from it:

Bridezillas the TV show

I love this show, it makes me feel a little more normal. No I'm kidding, why the heck would any man marry these women?! I would run for the hills if I met any of these women (and I use the term women loosely).

Here's a small clip in case you haven't seen the wonderfullness that is Bridezillas.

do you know?

Of any place where I could take Isabella to sing? I don't mean lessons, I mean just a fun place to sing? I remember when I was little I was in a group of singers and we also had musical instruments. I was SO talented that I was given the honor of being the bell ringer. Mama always said they give the best kids the smallest instruments. (joke)

Zach's funny for today:

We were walking to school and he called the crossing guard an octopus! I have no clue why but the crossing guard sure got a kick out of it!

P.S. I walked 4 miles today, I think if I collected my sweat it would fill a gallon jug.

2 funny things that Zach said today

Me: some animals have tails, like Corky and Silver and Mia. Do you have a tail?
Zach: no, I just have a pee pee
Me: hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Zach: I'm short
Donovan: oh yeah, why?
Zach: I don't know, I'm just short.
Donovan : hahahahahahahahahaha!

my new obsession

I wish they would come to the US for a tour.

Friday, August 22, 2008

hello, is this Isabell's mom?

Me: yes, this is Isabella's mom
coach: hi, she has a game tomorrow
me: um, for what?
coach: a soccer game, you signed her up right?
me: yes, but this is the first thing I have heard about it
coach: ok well she can come tomorrow
me: um, ooookkkk
coach: she will need cleats and shin guards and the game starts at 9:00am.
me: I don't think I will be able to get them by 9:00am (she called at 8:30pm!)
coach: ok, well she can come anyway
me: can she just watch, because I think she will just stand there clueless otherwise
coach: yes, she can just watch
me: oookkk, see you tomorrow then
coach: ok, bye
me: bye?

My first thought after hanging up is...is this the way it is supposed to be? No practice before a game? Have they been practicing for weeks and we just weren't told about it? How am I supposed to know which team she is on when I go to this field tomorrow?

What did I get us into?!

to the men who actually read my blog...SKIP THIS ONE!

My funny Canadian friend Holly introduced me to this:

Diva Cup

things I like about it:
easy to insert
lasts 12 hours
you absolutely don't feel it
economical
more earth friendly than the other PMS options
small and discreet

things I don't like about it:
the name (the word diva makes my skin crawl)

Try it out, it's one of the best purchases I have ever made.

3rd times a charm!

I was trying to make myself a smoothie this morning. I poured the juice into my blender/smoothie maker and it started pouring out of the spout! I forgot to close it! So I quickly close it and clean up. I pour the rest of the juice in, a container of vanilla yogurt and a handful of ice. I finish blending it up and go to open the spout but it's too thick. I go to pour it the old fashioned way and it's coming very slowly. All the sudden a giant blob comes flying down and pushes the lid off which spilled smoothie ALL over the counter! I just sat there stunned and started to clean it up. I grabbed the empty yogurt container that is now filled with smoothie and tossed it into the sink. The container landed upright and flung smoothie straight up, all over the ceiling and all over my face and clothes! Luckily I was still in my workout gear. Can you believe my luck?! I had to grab my camera:

Here's the smoothie all over the counter:

Here I am with smoothie dripping down my face, trying not to laugh!

Another shot of me, check out my arm!

I love it when this stuff happens

I found a flier in an old book, it's from a restaurant called Sarnez in Los Angeles. It's funny, as I was leaving for the gym tonight there was a show called "If Walls could talk" on HGTV. When I got home Donovan said he thought I would like it so he taped it, he knows me so well! I love history and we always talk about restoring old houses and how cool it would be to find stuff in the attic or buried in the back yard.

This one says Dinners start at $1.50. (!)

This one says that it is from Summer of 1947

It is addressed to my great aunt Eleanor, I'm not sure what year she was born but I am guessing she would have been about 25 in 1947.

doing good

I started eating healthy and exercising regularly again on Monday. So far I have lost 7 pounds since Monday! I know it's probably water weight but it's a nice way to start and a good motivator to keep going. I even went to Target today and looked at all the pre-made sandwiches and individual brownies and cupcakes that I normally would have chose but decided on a grilled chicken salad. Yay me!

I am also starting to walk Isabella to school and to pick her up (as log as it's not too hot). I started on Thursday but we didn't get out the door in time in the morning so we drove, but we did walk to pick her up. It is a mile one way so hang on while I get my calculator...ok 4 miles a day! I plan on walking at first and then slowly starting to jog but that will be a few months from now.

Anyway, I hope to keep on track this time and get back into my old clothes from last summer! I'll keep ya updated.

Pismo

We love it there! The weather is amazing, the people are awesome, the city is so much fun. My grandparents and parents have shares from Pismo Coast Village so we stay for freeeee! Here are a few photos from our trip:

Check out this pile of firewood! All the crates on the left are full of wood too. We had a fire going almost all day long.

Photobucket

We bought a bike trailer (although we bought this one for $99!)and the kids LOVE it. We took multiple rides throughout the day. I wish our neighborhood was less like a race track so I could use it more. I'm too chicken.

Photobucket

Isa's new thing is to pose with her eyes closed, I think it's adorable.

Photobucket

On Monday we went to Santa Maria Discovery Museum it is an awesome kids museum. They have a veterinarian exhibit, a healthy restaurant, farm exhibit where they have a real tractor for the kids to sit on, a real boat, a real beach, a pirate ship, so many things. If you are ever in the area you must go there! Our favorite part is the HUGE craft table with tons of silly things to glue on. Isabella made a bird all on her own, isn't it cute?!

Photobucket

They also had this really cool interlocking block system to create houses, we made a maze, the kids loved this.

Photobucket

Photobucket

They love us so much they named a street after Donovan!

Photobucket

We went to the pier almost every night to see the sunset, I took this photo and this bird walked into my shot. I love the look on his face "what are you doing lady??"

Photobucket

Photobucket

On the way back we found that Zach had fallen asleep on Isa's shoulder! She wasn't too pleased with it.

Photobucket

The next day my good friend Heather, who's mom is a guide at Hearst Castle got us free tickets for a tour there (thanks mom!) so we got to spend the day together. The best part was the bus ride with a group of German tourists who kept singing the Madagascar theme song "I like to move it move it, we like to move it move it, we like to MOVE IT!" I heard them sing it a few times, and the song is STILL stuck in my head!

Here we are at Hearst:

Photobucket

Here are a few photos that I took, we were a little rushed and there were lots of people so I didn't get as many shots as I wanted...and some are crooked...grrr!

Photobucket

The breathtaking pool:

Photobucket

I loved the gardens and the fixtures:

Photobucket

And this door, it is real gold!

Photobucket

The HUGE dining room ceiling had saints carved out of it, it was awesome.

Photobucket

Here is the awesome indoor pool, the upper area is a diving area.

Photobucket

The stairs to the pool are solid marble:

Photobucket

LOVE this statue, I took a photo of the $30 print in the gift shop hoping it would look good but it doesn't. I thought I might be able to find a print for cheaper but I am having trouble! I might go back and buy it someday.

Photobucket

The next few days we just hung out, lots of bike rides, we went swimming a few times. We had a great time. I can't wait to go back in November!
