So us Californian's voted for chickens to have bigger cages and junk. Why is it still legal for adults to smoke in the car with a child? I think every smoker knows the risks of smoking, why in the world would you intentionally harm a child? I just don't understand this!

I was on my way to pick up Donovan's mom to go out to dinner and there was a man in the drivers seat...smoking. A woman in the passenger seat smoking and a grandma in the back smoking. A little girl sitting next to grandma, behind mom and dad breathing it all in. I was absolutely disgusted. I wanted to scream at them but I wouldn't want my kids to see me do that.

What can we do to put this on the ballots?!

It was yummy!



Angel Lush with Pineapple

Ingredients:
1 package (4-serving size) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pud 1 prepared round angel food cake (10 oz.)
1 can (20 oz.) DOLE Crushed Pineapple in juice undrained 1 cup fresh mixed seasonal berries
1 cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

Instructions:
MIX dry pudding mix and pineapple in medium bowl. Gently stir in whipped topping.

CUT cake horizontally into 3 layers. Place bottom cake layer on serving plate; top with 1/3 of the pudding mixture. Repeat layers 2 times.

REFRIGRATE at least 1 hour. Top with berries just before serving. Store leftovers in refrigerator.

sleepless night

I didn't fall asleep last night.

Donovan created a lot of work for me and I enjoy doing it so I was up till almost 1:00am doing it! So I go to bed thinking I will fall right to sleep since I spent most of the day cleaning and getting ready for my Uppercase Living party, I even re-arranged the living room and family room furniture (by MYSELF!) I didn't move the piano though (this time). Anywho, I laid in bed tossing and turning for hours. I finally got up with Donovan at 4:00am since I figured if I hadn't fallen asleep yet, it probably wasn't happening!

I'm not sure what did it...could it have been the grande caramel machiatto that I had at 3:00pm? Or perhaps the 3 glasses of ice tea that I had at 8:00pm? Maybe the double chocolate brownie that I had at 9:00pm (don't judge!). Or maybe the fact that my husband snores like a bear in hibernation?

Don't call my house after 8:00pm tonight because I have a date with my good pal nyquil.

my new business venture

I am going to start selling Uppercase Living

I saw a few of their products and wanted to buy some, I forgot about it and then got an e-mail about selling so I thought "why not?!" I love this stuff and I think my friends and family will too.

I'm having a party on the 22nd and I hope all of my family and friends can come!

I secretly always hoped that I could do something like this when I was breastfeeding my kids. I always though it would be amazing to help a baby out like that. I also wanted to donate my breast milk but ya...I guess I didn't end up having time for that!

pray for baby Addison. Where ever you are, what ever you are doing, stop for 10 seconds and ask God to watch over the surgeons and the nurses and protect baby Addison and her mommy, daddy and big sister through this scary moment. She has a hole in her heart and they are doing open heart surgery on her next Wednesday.

I love my men!

We camped over the weekend and my dad and Donovan spent about 2-3 hours trying to figure out why we had no left brake light on the trailer. They replaced the cable that goes from the truck to the trailer, checked this and that and then finally realized that it was some fuses. All in the rain! It was raining most of the time, pouring at some points and sprinkling at others but almost constant rain! The cable was under the trailer so they had to lay on the ground for that part.

Then today I go to start the truck to go home and the battery is dead! Dad to the rescue again! He has jumper cables and drives his truck over to give us a jump. So we don't turn off the car until we get home (luckily it was a short drive) and I have to run out to take Isabella to her Daisy Girl Scout meeting and Donovan was home replacing the battery...in the rain again!

My men are my heroes.

P.S. I would also like to mention Donovan's dad, he has helped us more times than I can count, I would feel bad if I had left him out of this thank you blog.

Anyway, I love all my men!

chivalry, Honda and doughnuts

I went to the Honda dealer after going to Kragen, Pep Boys and some other place who's name I can't think of. None of them knew what wipers my Civic needs, well, I take it back...Kragen said they knew and sold me 2 $30 wipers that didn't fit and I couldn't find the reciept for. So I bit the bullet thinking Honda will charge me an arm, a leg and perhaps a spleen for these wiper blades. It's raining so I park in the service area because it's covered, and I planned on giving it a try myself. I go to the parts dept. and the guy sells me new rubber for the blades and they were $7 each! WHOA!

I go out to the car and there are 4 men standing around my car, they had my wipers completely taken apart and were all ready to fix them! I gave them the rubber things and they went to work. I bucked Zach in and within 5 minutes they were done! I was so happy! I tried them and they work perfectly, not a single drop on the windshield.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the doughnut part, when the sales employee was in the back getting the part Zach noticed that there were doughnuts in the waiting room. I love doughnuts as much as my dog loves trash. As much as ducks love popcorn. It was like I heard angels singing the free doughnuts song. Then I remembered how hard I have been working in the last few weeks so lose weight so I got one for Zach and walked away. They even had my favorite kind, old fashioned and it was dipped in chocolate WITH chocolate chips on it! Pure torture!!! I walked away from them and shed a tear (inside). Zach tells me a few minutes later that he is done with his, I think, well...a half of a doughnut is better than a whole but again I decided to skip it. Darn you will power.

Anyway, this is seriously the most jumbled post ever! Sorry!

someone has issues!

Why in the world would you want to have 14 children?! I'm talking about the SINGLE mom who had 6 children at home and just gave birth to octuplets! 1. How in the world did she pay for the fertility treatments with 6 children at home already? 2. How does she take care of 6 children and how in the world will she take care of 14?!

I heard numerous radio broadcasts about her wanting Oprah to pay her $2 million dollars for an interview. Ooooh, now I see why she wants so many children. What is wrong with people?!

Veggie Tales

Is there any kids music out there that is better? I think not! I love Veggie Tales and the other day I was in the car by myself and realized after about 10 minutes of driving that I was listening to the kids music! When I could have been listening to my adult music at a level that will surely make me deaf in a few years. Darn it! The "alone" car rides are so few and far between I hate to waste them.
