The problem with mass transit
You are on the bus when you suddenly realize ... you need to fart.
The music is really loud, so you time your farts with the beat.
After a couple of songs, you start to feel better as you approach your stop.
As you are leaving the bus, people are really staring you down,
and that's when you remember: you've been listening to your ipod.

Bedroom re-model
We finally finished it!
this is it before, I liked it ok but it wasn't ever anything that I was in love with. I hated the curtains! We also moved the bed to the other side off the room, it is under the windows now, which was awesome during the heat of the summer.

Here it is now, I picked the color in just a minute when the painters asked if we wanted it painted when they scraped our ceilings. I wasn't sure about it and I had no clue what colors went with it! I love the colors all together.

Here is our dresser, we recently hung up those photos above it, on the dresser is my wedding bouquet, a wedding photo and our toasting glasses.

Here is another wall, the wall that the bed used to be on. I am saving the spot above the H for our 10th anniversary photo.

puppies
I've got puppy fever! I should never have gone into the pet shop in the Galleria, it just made me want a puppy even more!
This was by far my favorite, an 8 week old goldendoodle (golden retriever/poodle) but it was $1,100! eek!

This Husky was adorable, so playful!

I think this one is a Maltese:

Boston Terrier, I think I love this dog!

Cute little Jack Russell terrier:

I don't think we need any more dog poop in our back yard right now though! I already gag every time I have to pick it up!

I may need to borrow my brother's Member's Only jacket
because we are members! We bought a membership at Silent Valley Club and we couldn't love this place more. It's 460 acres and there are never many people there so we feel totally secluded. We find a spot that we can pull in without backing in so that we can save time (and frustration!) and we look for a spot with lots of room for the kids to play. This is our spot:

And our spot in the dark:

Since we are out in the middle of nowhere you see every single star in the sky! I love it.
The kids love exploring, they collect acorns for the squirrels and I find them in the washing machine for days and days afterward!

There is an awesome park:

My kids could swing for hours on end.

Isabella was a little bit too big for the swing!

Eef (Zach's imaginary friend!) came with us and Zach said Isabella needed to push him on the swing:

The roads here are almost always empty so we fly kites and ride bikes all day long.

I bought these little kits at Wal Mart that came with paint, brushes and little fairies to paint. Isa painted 3 or 4 and Zach painted one. And then he proceeded to pick up the hammer and smash it!

How stupid ware we for leaving a hammer out?! Luckily he didn't head toward my truck like he did with the socket wrench a few months ago.
here's a picture of our funny dog, he looks like he will bite my hand off:

Zach COMPLETELY exhausted himself. He would go non stop all day long. We bought this little tv (roughing it!) so at night they could relax:

Here he is sleeping at 7:00pm! He slept 13 hours that night!

We love this place, it's 45 minutes from our house but feels worlds different than home. Wanna come with us next time??

People are RUDE!
We are going camping tomorrow so we brought home our trailer tonight to start loading it up. So we are coming home from the storage place, exited the freeway and were waiting for the light to change. A woman in a silver Acura with Florida plates (yes, I am on the hunt for her) goes around us on the left and turns right, right in front of us! But wait...there's more! So she drives about 1/2 mile and gets into the left lane and then suddenly decides she needs to turn right so she again cuts us off and crosses like 4 lanes. Ugh!
Hopefully our trip will be uneventful!

Happy 65th Anniversary Monga and Papa!
It would have been 65 years on Monday so my mom and I took Monga out on a date. The kids and I made these flowers for her, there are 65 of them.

We went to Mimi's and had a nice dinner where we chatted about memories of Papa. Monga ordered meatloaf and talked about how Papa used to love it. At one point a small bite of meatloaf landed in Papa's ring that she now wears around her neck. I said "well, there is papa having his bite!" it was great. We all put on our lipstick and I caught this shot.

My mom was showing Monga lip gloss, she had never tried it! It looked great on her.
Here is one more:

Then we made a run to Michaels to get some frames for a few things that Monga wanted to preserve. It was a great night, I didn't get home until close to 11:00!
Oh, and Monga got her name when my brother Jeff was a baby, he couldn't say Grandma but he could say Monga so that is what we have called her ever since. Cute, huh?

sleep...
has not been coming easy lately. =( I have tried everything, meditation, music, tea, baths, reading, pills...nothing works! I even talked to my mom about it yesterday and she said she has had the same issues for 20+ years.
So here I am, 5:03am and I have been awake for almost 2 hours. This sucks.

Here is my 4th photo from my 4th folder:

Zach has 2 blankets, 1 for the house and one for the car. He found both in the dryer and was beyond excited, he walked around the house with both of them for hours! He only sucks his thumb when he has his blanket so here he was trying to suck both thumbs!

maddening
My son is a klutz, I have taken him for stitches 3 times in his 3.5 years, he has only had to get stitches once though.
Today he was trying to climb up onto the couch and fell backwards hitting the sharp corner of our (about to be firewood) coffee table. He SCREAMED like I have never heard him scream before. I ran to him and he ran to met and we met in the kitchen and I couldn't see why he was screaming so loudly. Until I turned him around and saw the back of his head. Blood was literally gushing. I was so scared I frantically called (poor) Donovan and he said to call an ambulance. I decided against it since I couldn't see a large gash, there was just a lot of blood.
rag #2

rag #3

rag #1 was thrown away and there was a #4 and #5 on the way to the doctors office.
So I jump in the car and we head to the doctors office, I call on the way there to let them know I am coming and they inform me that ALL of the doctors AND nurses were at lunch together. HUH? Are you kidding me?
So I decide to go to Urgent Care, I get there and it's an after hours urgent care so it doesn't open until 6:00pm. Ooookkkkay. I call the doctors office back and we have an appointment at 2:00, an hour and a half from that point. I am deciding if I should just go back home but I think it should be looked at no matter what.
Here is the back of his head after I cleaned it up a bit:

and his neck:

There wass also blood all over my face, hands and shirt!
He's fine now, the doctor did a thorough examination and said just not to wash it for 2 days and if he starts to vomit to bring him back in.
What a day! I'm ready for bed (at 3:15pm) and in my jammies!

while looking for photos...
clothes
I'm a very fatshionable person. I wear things that come in my size, which generally isn't in fashionable. My outfits usually consist of jeans, a tank top and a hoodie. Layers hides things, right?? If I had it my way I would wear something fashionable like this:

I'm trying to get back into shape, how many times have I said this in my blog?!
My weight goals for 2009 are:
exercise at least 3x a week
use a small plate for meals
no second helpings
I'm trying not to focus on a number but mostly fit back into the clothes that I enjoyed wearing...a year and a half ago! I also would love to (theoretically) fit back into my wedding dress. Our 10 year anniversary is in 6 months and I would love to feel like I haven't gained a TON in 10 years. I am about 40 pounds more than I was on my wedding day (barf).
So these are my goals, I hope to reach them. Wish me luck!!

my project
We had this fire place guard on for 6 years, it had these adhesive on it so when I finally pulled it off a few weeks ago it pulled a layer of paint off with it. Along with the fact that Silver fell asleep and knocked over the screen making a big black mark on the hearth it needed to be repainted. I decided on a whim that I wanted to paint it black! I went to Lowes and bought everything I needed and went for it!
Here are some photos:
Before:

Primer coat:

Mid job, what a disaster!

DONE!

I wasn't sure about it but once it was all done I came around. I REALLY like it!
